This place is getting people talking and I’m seeing a lot of tweets and posts and blogs all about Meet & Meat. Since opening a couple of weeks back, I’ve wanted to visit. Looking for somewhere to enjoy a pre-dinner drink, we thought we’d stop into Meet & Meat for a glass of wine and to check it out.
Occupying what used to be Munchies on the corner of South William Street and Exchequer Street, Meet & Meat is a stylish addition to this part of the city, with its red and white striped awning and inviting interior.
Meet & Meat is a a café and deli during the day open for breakfast and lunch, serving what look to be delectable sandwiches. In the evenings, it’s a wine bar with charcuterie plates and breads.
Inside it is exposed brickwork, wood, black and white tiles, marble – a little retro with some vintage bits and pieces and quite dark and cosy… I really really like…
We took our stools at a counter running along the window, perfect for us who love to people watch… I could honestly have sat there all evening just watching the comings and goings on this busy street. We ordered a couple of glasses of the French Chardonnay, very nice reasonably light white wine. And then off we headed for our dinner reservation, sad to leave our little perch.
I am definitely returning very soon to try out the food and will add to this mini review then…till then, enjoy!@MeetandMeat / https://www.facebook.com/meetandmeat *** Follow Gin & Griddle on Twitter – @GinandGriddle … and on Facebook
