A Girls Night at Osprey Hotel, Naas

Take 6 ladies, friends for a long time but who don’t get to see each other as much as they would like, find a weekend date that everyone is free, and pick a hotel that meets criteria, not too far to travel, not too expensive, with a spa, restaurant, bar. We decided on Osprey Hotel…

Wilde at The Westbury Hotel, Dublin 2

With an afternoon off work, and fancying a nice lunch with a glass or two of wine, we headed into town, with WILDE in The Westbury Hotel our destination. We didn’t book as it was a weekday and we were also a little later than lunchtime. When you enter the hotel, just off the lobby…

Room 209 @ The Haddington Hotel

We returned to stay at The Haddington Hotel in December for my birthday, having previously stayed and loved it. You can have a read about that stay here. On this visit we booked an upgraded room, and it was so gorgeous I thought I’d share. It’s worth adding here that I’m not affiliated in any…

Urchin – New Bar at The Cliff Townhouse

The Cliff Townhouse have opened a new bar in their basement space on Stephen’s Green. We dropped by at the weekend for a pre-dinner drink. Urchin is bright and light (despite being the basement), contemporary in design with an exposed stone wall along one side. There’s a couple of really cute window tables with stools,…

Monart Hotel & Spa, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford

At the end of November before the Christmas madness got underway, I spent a night in Monart with my mum and sister. It was really lovely to get away with them for the night, to spend time together and catch-up properly.  We booked a package called Midweek Haven. This included 1 nights’s deluxe accommodation with breakfast,…

Stay by the Sea at The Haddington Hotel in Dun Laoghaire

We seem to be on a tour of Dublin with our recent mini holidays at The Shelbourne and The Marker. Last weekend it was the turn of The Haddington in Dun Laoghaire. Formerly The Kingston Hotel, The Haddington hotel is mid renovation with the team there slowly refurbishing rooms and amenities. They are making good progress though….

The Marker Hotel, Grand Canal Square

The Marker Hotel, with it’s white chequerboard facade, is modern, stylish and contemporary both outside and inside. We arrived by taxi, greeted at the doors and brought swiftly to the reception. A smooth check in, we spotted a room starting with a ‘1’ on our door key card and asked if there was a higher floor…

With a few days off, and not wanting to travel far we decided to treat ourselves to a night in our home city, Dublin. We booked a room in The Shelbourne Hotel and headed into town early to fully enjoy our stay.

The Merchant Hotel, Belfast

Belfast is a city we love to visit, there’s lots to do with some great restaurants and bars. It had been a couple of years since our last trip so we decided to treat ourselves to a stay at The Merchant Hotel and booked an ‘art deco room’ for a two night weekend break.

Mount Juliet Estate, Co. Kilkenny

Mount Juliet is a beautiful Georgian house, on 1500 acres of land, with the River Nore running through it. It’s setting is spectacular and is one of the reasons we chose Mount Juliet for our wedding in June 2010. We were excited to return recently for a two night stay.
