The Best of 2015 – Main Courses

Continuing on, these are our favourite main courses from 2015…

1. Amazing pasta at Toto’s in London… so simple the ravioli filled with buffalo ricotta with fresh tomato sauce was delicious and a super meal to start of 2015 when we visited London in January.

2. The Roast Chicken at One Pico for Sunday lunch, not enough good things I can say about this plate of food…the crispy skin on the chicken was incredible with the hazelnuts adding a lovely texture to the dish. The chicken was moist and with the charred baby gem and the peas was sensational.

(an honorary mention for the other main at One Pico which was equally as good as the chicken – Fillet of Beef, Cheek Croquette, Girolles, Roast Shallot…)

3. On our visit to Toronto we enjoyed wonderful fish at The Chase Fish & Oyster including this Sea Bream, sweet corn & ancho chili broth, smoked tomatillo salsa & wilted kale

4. Fish & Chips at The Boathouse, another simple dish but sometimes places don’t put the effort in. This tray of fish & chips was delicious, the weather was awful out, lashing rain and we were tucked up warm inside The Boathouse eating this comforting food…

5. One of my favourite meals of the year and the Lemon Sole at Mulcahys in Kenmare was all kinds of awesome…

6. A final very enjoyable dish was the Aylesbury duck breast and confit leg, choucroute, salt baked beetroot and cep sauce at Campagne in Kilkenny
